Incorporated in 2017, we, CIDB IBS plays our role as a service to support the Malaysian Government and local industry players in addressing the implementation of IBS initiatives — Industrialized Building System initiatives — under CITP 2016–2020 (Construction Industry Transformation Program) agenda.
By actively promoting and enhancing IBS development nationwide through leading edge IBS services and products. our vision is to be the leader in IBS solutions and catalyst for the transformation of the IBS industry.
As an anchor to our local construction industry, we have strong support from the industry key stakeholders such as CIDB Malaysia and Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR).
IBS VILLAGE IN KUALA LUMPUR
CIDB IBS is located with our proud IBS Village in Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Kuala Lumpur that features IBS Component Gallery and showcases IBS Sample Houses.
Highlighting our roles in the industry, CIDB IBS helps industry players by providing services and solutions in 3 main thrust :
i- Solutions Provider,
ii- IMPACT, and
iii- IBS Virtual Warehouse.
After 3 years of operations, our registry remarks that we are having almost 20,000 active IBS industry players, offering multi expertise and services as manufacturers, contractors, installers as well as IBS expert consultants.
CIDB IBS AS SOLUTION PROVIDER
In nurturing the adoption of IBS technology in products and components manufacturing and services, CIDB IBS runs a program designated for SME G1 to G3 construction entrepreneurs, named as Vendor Development Program (VDP).
VDP series also provides the opportunity for the entrepreneurs to explore available opportunities in the IBS market industry with the lead to prepare these skilled/ trained entrepreneurs to make good product or services offerings within the local and international market.
VDP core values are focusing on:
- strengthening our Malaysian IBS networking and supporting ecosystem within all industry players;
- to ensure the quality of the product, cost, design and delivery shall fulfill the specifications and terms as stipulated by CIDB Malaysia; as well as
- to provide guidelines on developing IBS Manufacturers within the existing network.
VDP supports the CITP Agenda under the Productivity Pillar which states :
PT-05 : 80% of total no of private projects with project value RM 50million and above to achieve 50 IBS score by Q4 2020 and 70 IBS score by Q4 2025.
CIDB IBS OFFERS ADVISORY & CONSULTANCY PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Playing the role of an important IBS anchor, CIDB IBS is dedicated to provide advisory and consultation services to train, to resolve and to nurture the importance of IBS technology for the construction players.
Another initiative from CIDB IBS to compliment these consultancies is by promoting IBS Standard Design packages to be exercised at an instant. To date, we have up to 16 IBS Standard Designs available which includes the prospectus design drawings and approval, list of key panelists and development timeline.
IMPACT CERTIFICATION FOR THE INDUSTRY
IMPACT, the IBS Manufacturer & Product Assessment & Certification, is a systematic certification program designed for IBS manufacturers to measure standard component quality and manufacturing achievements based on the criteria that has been set in CIS 24.
IMPACT is merely an accreditation of the said products and services being met with the stringent CIS24 standard and cannot be construed as a guarantee of the product safety or the IBS system that has the certification.
IMPACT certification is classified into 2 categories, that are IMPACT Manufacturing & IMPACT Suppliers. Applicants from the industry players shall guided through three (3) valuation processes as below:
- Verification Process- documentation checking
- Validation Process — physical testing / checking on components and manufacturer / supplier
- Certification Process — A certificate will be issued for manufacturer / supplier that has met the standard as stated in IMPACT guidelines.
DIGITALIZATION ERA
The Digital Era enforces us to expand our benefit reach to more construction industry players via our soon to be launched product named, the IBS Virtual Warehouse.
Briefly, IBS Virtual Warehouse roles as an online e-commerce construction trading platform. This platform is created to link up suppliers and potential buyers/ clients of the construction industry directly for efficient and transparent transactions.
MONTHLY ROUTINE — SEMBANG IBS
As part of its effort in promoting IBS industry, CIDB IBS will be holding a half-day seminar called Sembang IBS that features talks from industry players.
The upcoming Sembang IBS will be held on September 2, 2020 from 9 am to 12pm and will hybridly conducted physically in IBS Village and broadcasted live on webinar virtual platform for the non-KL participants. Our August highlights IBS component — Wall Panel.
